This African-American family traces back to Aaron, born in Virginia ca 1830. This family is one of the very few where the patriarch, Aaron, can be traced back before the Civil War. Aaron and his wife, America, were born in Virginia, but must have been taken to Graves Co., Kentucky. There, they started a family before the war, and the family continued to grow during and after the war. Today, many descendants still live in and around Mayfield in Graves county. However, known records are incomplete and the early years of this family are poorly documented.

Buck Parrott, resident of 419 South 14th Street, died Monday evening at 6:45 at his home.

He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church where he was on the Board of Deacons. He was an employe of the W.B. Kennedy Tobacco Company for about 30 years.

Survivors include eight children, Mrs. Jessie Jones, Mrs. Charlie Morris, Mrs. Curtis Kelley, Clauzell Parrott, Mizell Parrott, Bobby Parrott, Tommy Parrott, and Martha Ann Parrott.

Mr. Parrott is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Katie Mae Parrott; 12 grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. B. Todd; one niece, Mrs. Herbert Dowdy; several nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mayfield Man, Pronouncd Dead, Is Revived by Surgeon

MAYFIELD, Ky., Feb. 15 - The "dead" came back to life here. James Provine, 26-year-old Mayfield negro, was pronouncd dead after he was stabbed in the heart last night, but Dr. J.M. Mayer, hospital surgeon, got out his, removed a blood clot an took three stiches in the negro's heart. James revived and tonight the physicians reported him on the road to recovery.

Meanwhile, Annetta Parrott, negro woman, posted bond of $500 on a charge of malicious cutting with intent to kill. Her examining trial was set for Friday. She said she stabbed Provine to defend her honor.

Joe Parrott, South Fourteenth street, negro, is in serious condition from knife wouns sustained Saturday night and "Gray Bob" Sherrill, another Mayfield Negro, is being held in jail for slashing Parrott. The negro has three wounds, one a deep gash from his neck to his abdomen. He was also slashed on the cheek and stabbed in the side. Because of the condition of Parrott, the trial of Sherrill on a charge of malicious cutting with intent to kill was continued in Mayfield police court this morning until Friday.

Mayfield Man, Pronouncd Dead, Is Revived by Surgeon

MAYFIELD, Ky., Feb. 15 - The "dead" came back to life here. James Provine, 26-year-old Mayfield negro, was pronouncd dead after he was stabbed in the heart last night, but Dr. J.M. Mayer, hospital surgeon, got out his, removed a blood clot an took three stiches in the negro's heart. James revived and tonight the physicians reported him on the road to recovery.

Meanwhile, Annetta Parrott, negro woman, posted bond of $500 on a charge of malicious cutting with intent to kill. Her examining trial was set for Friday. She said she stabbed Provine to defend her honor.
